You don’t realize how much you rely on your ice maker until it stops working. That makes enjoying a cool beverage more than a little difficult. While a minor inconvenience, it can lead to much more substantial issues, including water leaking into your fridge and creating a build-up of ice in the interior of your freezer. Whatever the issue is at A-Tech Appliance, our team is here to help you identify the problem, fix it, and restore your ice machine back to its original level of functioning.
Making Sounds But No Ice
If when you push down on the ice button and you hear a motor running but no ice, it likely means there is a jam in the water line. The water is not making it to the ice machine, which prevents the formation of ice. This can occur if the line is dirty. Sometimes mold can form around moisture that has remained in the line. By cleaning the line out you can free any blockage and restore the ice making function.
Much like the water line clogging, you don’t want a clogged filter. The filter, when clogged, can freeze over and prevent the entire system from working. Water could start to pool into the freezer and cause the development of frost and ice around the edges of your freezer. Check the thermostat and increase the temperature to help clear the blockage.
